Cosplay Noob: Sailor Neptune casual cosplay

Guess what arrived today! MY SKIRT!!!

So just to remind you this is what colour was on eBay:

I was concerned about the colour. BUT THEN I GOT THIS:

To be honest this is the perfect colour I think, for Sailor Neptune's skirt.

Now all I need to do is figure out what to do about the top half. I already know I'm going to take the skirt out with me to get the correct colour collar and bows, so maybe take it out to get at tshirt. Main issue here is getting a tshirt that not only fits well, but has th correct neckline.

I've looked on eBay and there are body suits. BUT they only do a scoop necked short sleeved bodysuit. Any v neck searches have a super deep v neck and/or has a modest v neck but has long sleeves. I could cut them but I don't want to mess it up.

Cosplay noob: Planning my casual Sailor Neptune costume for MCM London October 24th 2015

Me and my lovely friend Rosie have been throwing about our ideas for cosplay for the next MCM London, in October this year. I didn't know what to cosplay as, so taking to the MCM Facebook page, I thought I would get some opinions on what to dress up as.

Now I absolutely love Sailor Moon, I've always wanted to do a cosplay but have been put off by my size, so as soon as someone mentioned my green wig would make a good Sailor Neptune (or the joker genderbend/Neleil from bleach) cosplay I instantly wanted to make this a thing.

Being a size 20, most of these sailor moon costumes really aren't forgiving in the skirt department. Not only that but I would prefer to get my size or something custom made to my figure. Taking to the Internet for cosplay websites were easy, what wasn't was finding solid reviews. All these websites I was looking on we're very hit and miss, some people having good experiences others listing wrong sizing and very late arrivals with very bad customer-merchant communication. Yeah sure I could go and pay someone anywhere up form £100 for my costume, but I do not have this money lying around at present.

Next best solution I found was a very cute casual looking sailor moon dress up I found on Pinterest by some guy called Sebastian Michaels (sourced from weheartit). Which is what I am going to be basing my first cosplay around.

See! Look at how cute that is!

Okay firstly I have adopted the help from my lovely twin sister, Sophie, to help me find a skirt in the teal colour I need and she pulled up this from eBay:

I bought this as soon as it loaded, I'm not even exaggerating.

Progress so far:
• Wig (bought £35 from geisha wigs)
• White T-shirt (waiting for purchase)
• skirt (bought £6 from eBay)
• Collar and bows (will be trying to make these)
• Choker (going to try and make)
• Tiara*

*I honestly don't know if I should have a tiara or paint Neptunes symbol on my forehead?

Make up noob tries to contour her face

Okay so this is how I looked before contouring

Only make up I have used is foundation, I filled in my eyebrows and have some mascara on. This is my basic look when I want to make an effort and put some make up on.

So how am I going to do this? I'm going to be following Nikkie Tutorials video to do my contouring, she only contours her cheekbones and jawline plus I absolutely adore her. I will also be using my trusty eyeshadow palette and a blush brush I have lying about because I don't have a contour kit! Can we say basic bitch?!

In all seriousness, it's best to optimise whet you have around you, because who has money to spend on expensive make up and palettes these days? Certainly not me.

So taking reference from Nikkie, she uses a brown colour for her jaw and cheekbones.... Let's try this colour?

I'm trying so hard not to use one with some sparkle in it.

Okay cheekbones. Your supposed to suck your cheeks in a little...

Cheekbones established: time to contour! And holy shit.... Will you look at that!
Oh look there's my cheekbones! Now onto my jawline....

Mmmmmmkay that's kind of working. I honestly don't want to overdo it. Now let's put some blush on. Only apply blush to the apples of your cheeks, I find this my smiling like so...

Okay I'm a pro at applying blush and highlight tbh lol

My trusty blush, shimmer shades by collection 2000.

Finally highlight the tops of the cheekbone, I used this white colour.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing it wrong or something but who cares?!

Okay this is the side by side before and after of contouring. What do you think? I should probably play about with it more but for my first attempt it's not too bad, I think so anyway. It's very subtle I think.

Review: Sodial 20 pairs of eyelashes in styles 1 & 2

Okay, so I bought these monstrosities back in February. I just wanted some eyelashes that weren't too costly, I bought these because there was so many for a very low price.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Cheap but not cheerful.

I paid £2.10 all in all, it came with free delivery so I thought I was winning. Upon opening them I noticed they are very thick and do not feel nice at all. The delivery took a very long time too, two weeks and a bit. So all that anticipation for nothing. (I feel like Amazon should show the sending address or country as I really cannot stand buying things from China.)

Also your supposed to get two different sizes but I must have drawn the short straw as I have two boxes of THE SAME style. Big, thick, black, rough and hard eyelashes. They actually resemble the sort of lashes you get in cheap baby dolls, the ones with them weird eyes that close when you lay them down.

Application is just non existent. I'm not even joking. Even after cutting to size they just will not stick to my lashline. And yes, I'm not the regular false eyelash user, but I have dabbled in it and other brands stick to my eyelashes easily. Maybe my eyelash/body adhesive glue is to blame here? I usually use the Revlon brand with the brush, my all time favourite product. Nope. Even waiting for the glue to dry to go "tacky" it didn't even stick.

Please ladies, drag queens, men, please do not buy these unless you are going to be sticking them into your body with super glue.

Eurovision 2015 live blog

The time has come my friends, where the UK sit and wonder if we will actually win this year or indeed get anywhere near the top of the leader board. My news feeds have been clogged with people having parties, and here I am poorly attempting to do a live blog.

Right now I have to sight of a lot of balls, or "circles" this years meaning and theme being building bridges, and some babe in an awesome dress playing the violin. THEN the reigning supreme Concita, introducing this, obviously miming, group of women in even more GORGEOUS DRESSES singing the theme song I guess. IF that wasn't enough, some random dude doing a rap AND then a boys choir are introduced into the mix. Oh btw the people who I just accused of miming are now actually singing, awks.

Honestly I feel like I'm going to be having a tough time trying to catch up with what's going on. Seriously I feel like there is too much shit going on, resulting in me feeling very disorientated!

LOL Graham Norton just referred to Australia as a novelty act this year. Harsh!

I don't know why but I'm getting major cheese vibes, like every year. Europe just gives me cheese vibes tbh.

Were live in Chinaaaaaaaaa, and now finally we are onto the acts!

SLOVENIA-
My verdict: Velocioid vibes, front woman has donned on earphones. MIMING VIOLINIST/DANCER.
The song is catchy, I feel like there is a Clean Bandit influence. I liked it.

FRANCE
They came last last year whaaaat. OH GOD EARTH SONG BACKDROP (When that song came out I used to scream cause I hated the music video and to this day I still hate that song by Michael Jackson). When songs are sung in their native language I so badly want to know what they are singing about. Yes I did French in secondary school, no I do not remember anything.

ISRAEL
Apparently this is a party song, nice and fitting.
OMG WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH BLUE? I say that because it sounds like early Blue stuff.

ESTONIA
WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE HER UP, DAMNIT?!
Did not like. She shed a single tear near the end. Stop acting whilst singing. Also sounds a lot like Gotye. Go back to sleep love.

UNITED KINGDOM
Aww shit son, lets go get it guys!
Omg this is going to be a flop. I just hate the song, I hate the music. At least they can half sing, HALF.
I HATE IT.

ARMENIA
Now Graham, why are you saying your blaming Game of Thrones for this song?
Very dramatic and musical-esque. Powerfull. But no.

LITHUANIA
Snogging on the stage. Their vocals are very strong. Very pop indeed.
Are these two actually an item? Very Munford and Sons.

SIBERIA
Ooo plump princess, finally someone representin'! OMG you think the backing singers are creepy men but nope. By far my favourite. That lady has some lungs.

NORWAY
CUTE. Very good singing. There are a lot of male and female duet acts.

SWEDEN
I like what's going on in terms of visual. Again very good singing. I like it, the whole hero theme is good. Aww he is cute isn't he.

CYPRUS
Its always nice to have a slow song. Its very mellow magic, and I like this song. The lyrics are nice, if not obviously rhymed, and it just sounds nice.

AUSTRALIA
Urgh just what we need, another Bruno Mars.

BELGIUM
This is a very random performance. I don't think it fits in with the contest but I do like the song.

AUSTRIA
The piano is gonna be set on fire....
Why? With the hat? Why?
Yep, called it.

Seriously hating the interlude conversations.

GREECE
CELIENE DION INSPIRED? Omg her voice, so powerful! YES FAVOURITE!

MONTENEGRO
I got so bored. Sorry guy.

GERMANY
This song sounds very familiar!!!! I'm getting very fed up with the vintage theme in most of these songs.

POLAND
Cute backdrop, again very musical-esque but I like this song and its message. At points it was a bit shaky but its expected.

LATVIA
That dress thooooo. And the song is amazing, her voice is amazing too.

ROMANIA
Sad song?

SPAIN
NO CAPES. Has anyone not learned by the Madge incident? Did no one watch The Incredibles?
The whole dress reveal could have gone worse, Madonna springs to mind.

HUNGARY
Very nice song. I like acoustic sounding songs.

GEORGIA
YES. YES. Song game is strong.

AZERBAIJAN
Random crawling guy, whaaat lol. Another damn ballad, though this time its a no from me though you can sing mate. THERE ARE TWO RANDOM CRAWLING GUYS, oh wait thats a woman.

RUSSIA
They believe in the dream of the superhighway connecting to America? Marilyn Monroe look, ahh classic. I do like this song though. Part of me thinks Russia is going to win.

ALBANIA
Nope sorry.

ITALY
Omg seriously hotties. Wonder why they are finishing with these guys?! Ha! That one in the middle is my favourite. Though I'm not a huge fan of pop/opera crossovers.

This intermission is both refreshing, just being pure music and no singing. But also very random.

Oh god there are two intermissions?! Much preferred Conhcita's performance.

So much awkwardness. That kid though.

VOTING

Very obvious from the offset that it was definitly going to be close between Sweden, Russia, and Italy.

Well done Sweden!

Some shit I review: Rose & Butler bird cross stitch kit

I just actually finished my first cross stitch kit. The last one I bought I completely failed because I didn't do ANY research into cross stitch, resulting in half of it being left unfinished. Yes, I used ALL the thread. I didn't know you was supposed to use single thread and I also didn't know the correct technique to cross stitch.....

Yep, completely fucked that up didn't I?! To be fair there was no instructions in the pack, this was supposed to be for kids for crying out loud.

But alas! That is a different time for me to rant about my crafty shortcomings. I am, however, going to review this lovely cross stitch kit I bought about a month ago from Argos! (You totally said it in the tone of that weird Argos advert from the early 2000's. ARGOOOOS)

Firstly I would just like to moan about the lack of crafting goods at Argos. Yeah sure there's loads of packs that are child friendly, but I am an adult! We like doing cross stitch!

Anyway, I thought this kit was pretty easy to use. You get a lot of thread for what you actually get, I thought I might have used the thread too sparingly but the instructions did say use one thread.

An added bonus to this is that it actually has the design printed on the fabric (I don't know what it's called, soz). I felt like I was cheating but this is a beginners kit, probably. I wouldn't know if it was actually a beginners kit cause it wasn't clearly labeled, but let's not get nit picky.

I did run into a spot of trouble whilst using this kit. The thread, especially the dark blue threads, were confusing. On the instructions, that I lost, were in greyscale so that was quite hard to figure out what goes where. The little card the thread came with were lettered but I feel that having colour in the instructions would have helped.

As you can see I started using the wrong colour thread, me being an extreme perfectionist I had to pick the parts I did wrong which ended up with me completely restarting the kit. Perfectionists ftw!!

Something else I had trouble with was the damn plastic embroidery hoop you are given. IT LIKES TO UNSCREW. Not even making that up, the amount to times I noticed the screw decided to randomly unscrew was ridiculous and annoying.

This kit took me one and a half days to complete. You could probably finish it in less time if you are good at cross stitch.

Dundundundaaaaaa the finished product!

Memory lane: Shit I used to watch on youtube

Can I make a weekly post bragging about shit that happened in the past? Its my blog so I guess so! Sorry guys, nothing really interesting here, unless you want to take a trip down my memory lane with me. Its a little random and might be funny (or not) but its nice writing about happy memories :D

Today's topic is
YOUTUBE VIDEOS

First stop, YOUTUBE POOP. Who didn't like watching youtube poop videos? I have only ever watched one or two videos, I think, and they have been videos that I have cherished for many a year. My all time favourite is "Ash's retarded adventure".

LEATHERBELT AHAHH This was the first video I watched and I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I have fond memories of laughing my ass off in front of the pc screen in college, trying to get my twin sister and our little group of friends to find it remotely funny. I don't know, but most my life I have found that I'm probably the only one out my friends to find certain videos funny. I would think this whilst laughing so much to the point tears are streaming down my face, questioning "Is there actually something mentally wrong with me?" while my friends are just looking at me, obviously very worried for my mental well being. I felt a complete void in my life when I found out that the video was removed, and any other duplicates of the video had the audio removed due to copyright.

Do I still find this video funny? Yes. The farting cheerleaders, lil old leatherbelt and his screaming, and the cunty pokedex are all still very funny to me.

Ahhh memories.

Okay, what else? Oh! AVENUE Q x NARUTO MUSIC VIDEOOOOooooO

This was one of the FIRST videos I watched on youtube, back when I was 15 in the ict suite one lunch break with my little gang. There was 4 of us and we were all pretty much as random as the other so people dared join our group, we were that cool... I think? (LOL) Anyway, we all thought this was the nuts because it was a song about using the internet... FOR PORN and some random anime that I didn't know of (I was 15 and I didn't really know of much anime), cleverly (or so I thought at the time) put together to make it look like it was actually from this cartoon show. We all laughed so hard when it would come on.

Do I still find this video funny? Uhhh, kinda. Not so much pissing myself laughing, like I would have been 10 years ago, but still funny.

I would post another video BUT I only have funny videos from a few years ago, who wants recent memoires?! LAME!

Wig shit: I HAVE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE

So you remember my lovely new lace front?
I decided to tidy it up. And by that I thought OMG STRAIGHTEN IT.

An hour and a half down I completed straightening her majesty.

Look at all that lovely hair, right? Well, yes and no. You see straightening this both has its upsides and downsides, whilst it's relatively easier to brush this out, it's rediculously long. Also I missed the flouncy curls that made this feel fucking awesome on. Having it straight looked normal, this wig in my eyes needs some flouncyness!

I have made a terrible choice! It was so hard to straighten, how the hell am I gonna manage to curl this?!? I'm feeling putting it in a style called "Hime Gyaru". It's all curly with a bit of a poof at the crown of the head. No fringe though. The style of this wig literally will not allow it (aka a HUGE seam to give the hair a windswept and interesting look).

For now, it is in its bag, braided up.

Teaches me right to fuck about!

An open letter to Toei Animation

Dear Toei Animation.

YOU FUCKINGSUK.

You ruined a beloved anime and manga series, with your half assed animations and lack to visual details. And don't even think I'm the ONLY ONE who thinks this. We should be enjoying it, the revival of something that has been important to our memories. But instead we have to put up with wonky eyes, questionable human anatomy and attack moves. THANKS A BUNCH TOEI~

Don't you just hate it when....

Don't you just hate it when you want to go and do something, then within the first 10 minutes of doing a task loose all hope and want to abandon ship? Being indecisive is a BITCH

So here's what I was totally in the mood to do; I really wanted to do a blog/photo post featuring me and my twin sister, wearing some over the top make up and wearing my wigs. We tend to do really silly facial expressions cause we're odd like that. No really. We have weird little things that is our thing, finger or literal dance moves and odd facial expressions when taking selfies together.

But alas, I got so annoyed with everything. My makeup wasn't over the top, my eyebrows weren't looking nice and my hair and wig cap just wasn't working. I don't think it helped I kept getting asked to do stuff, if I'm doing something I usually just want to be left alone.

Times like this is get VERY annoyed with myself. But here's to hoping I could actually do this tomorrow but on my own. If not, I'm going to give my wigs som attention.

Pet peeve: DOUBLE DENIM

Why you'd you wear this? Seriously? I HATE double denim so much. Why is this even a thing? Jesus h Christ it looks like overalls MADE OUT OF DENIM, you know the ones mechanics wear? I know some people like the whole mechanic/plumber look in the bedroom but this.....

End thoughts: WHYYYYY

Cosplay, wigs and gemsonas

Anyone watch Steven Universe? If not, you have to stop what you are doing, right now, and find some videos on YouTube. It's supposed to be a kids show but it's so complex and emotional.

It's about this boy called Steven Universe and he is part gem and part human, he lives with three crystal gems, to quote the theme song "Garnet, Amethyst and Pearrrl", and he's learning about being a crystal gem. It's too much for me to even explain in a blog the levels of awesome and the feels! THE FEELS!! It can be so emotional, when you get the episodes based around his mum and dad and the gems. Seriously it is so awesome!

Where was I going with this? Oh! So on this lovely world called tumblr there's this tag called "gemsona" where you basically create a gem, it can be yourself which is so cool, the possibilities are endless (please proceed with caution, like all fandoms there are explicit fanfics and art, usually found under "Steven Galaxy"). I thought "why not make my own character up?!" And I did. It's a very quick drawing but I based the gemstones I made up from the two wigs I have, a cute short pink wig (Sugarpie, by Geisha Wigs) and a majestic teal-green ombré lace front wig (Apple Sour, again, by Geisha Wigs).

(Sugarpie and Apple Sour, from Geishawigs.bigcartel.com)

(The quick doodle of my gemsonas)

HERE WE HAVE GREEN QUARTZ AND PINK SAPPHIRE!!! I know it's not the best drawing but I created something of my own. Also cosplay idea? I like making up potential cosplays, and then not using them because I don't go to conventions. How does anyone make going to conventions a job? Please point me in the right direction Jessica Nigiri-Senpai.

So the one I love right now is the Green Quartz character I have here. I thought "oh she's go the same sort of mad big hair like Rose Quartz, OMG SISTERS?!?!" I know, awesome right? In my defence anything is possible.

Thing is, when money is little, how does one cosplay? USE YOUR WARDROBE MY FRIENDS! Seriously I have ideas:
(Okay so the dress isn't the right colour, it being a blue/turquoise colour, but it's a start)

There's the start of a cosplay here, a very poor one at that but I'm only starting out. I may or may not get round to doing this, but the idea is there. There aren't any rules to tell you what's right or wrong with cosplay, and if there is someone telling you it's wrong, tell them to fuck off.

After years of blog neglect, I'M BAAAACK

So it's been a very long time since I last used this damned website, a lot has gone on which I shall divulge into in a second.

But first I would like to point out that I've noticed my blog traffic. Even if it isn't that much, I am very happy that I've had over 1,000 views and most of you guys watching are from the states?! Who'd have thought! I do love the Internet at times and how it connects countries together.

So, what have I been up to I hear you ask? Well! I was in university studying "Print and Online Journalism", which I actually ended up hating so much I decided to leave the summer before I was due to start my third and final year and get a job. It's a waste but then again it's my choice and I'm glad I done what I did. I decided it was something I just didn't like, the journalism side makes me so angry for many reasons I don't want to go into (let's not kill the mood with my angry rants).

Once getting a job over the summer, as it was temporary, I had a very short "job" with a "media company" that was basically some woman's ego trip spreading the message of Christianity. What a rude lady she was. I was not getting paid and living with my then boyfriend at his mothers, lovely woman and family just a shame of how things ended, I decided to leave. Girl's gotta make her rent, am I right?

Then there was a very long wait for another job. One course and a work experience placement later I was working for another agency. Doing something I can get paid for in full, not some apprentice wage. I also was loosing my father to cancer around that time, and I found out I'd need to have my large intestine removed to prevent cancer (A lovely condition called "Familal Adeomatous Polyposis").

I had a very down stage in my life but like a Phoenix I rose from that and, after I had my initial operation, was feeling so much better in myself. I felt confident and proud of myself. 11 months later I had my stoma reversed and here I am, writing this.

I haven't exactly decided what I will write about, I feel like I sorted out this blog too late to show people my stoma journey so it would be pointless to start talking about my reversal, but who knows.....

Anyway I'm bored now so I'm off.

Later bitches
