Character Obsession: Satomi from + Tic Nee-San and a little rant

So, you know I'm always on Facebook and pretty much any social networking site because of my lack of being a suitable candiate for employment? And you know when you see a gif and you're like "WHERE IS THIS FROM?!"? That is what I am like 99% of the time. ESPECIALLY when it comes to my Anime.

There's this one gif floating about of a girl slamming her friends head into a classroom/corridor wall which gave me the "oh my gods" as soon as my mind could interpret what was going on. I found out in the comments it was from an Anime called "Plastic Nee-San" (later I found out it is actually called "+ Tic Elder Sister").

Anyway so I'm watching the 27 minute long video of THE WHOLE ANIME, getting on great with it as its funny, violent and random. But then comes episode 3 called "Beauty-Tic" and my eyes are graced with this absolute babe of a character.

Blonde haired, chubby and obsessed with beauty, is "Beautiful Person" (her anime name apparently). It's a shame in the Anime she only makes two appearances, because you only see this random chubby girl pop up. She absolutely becomes fabulous in the manga. You also find out her name and see that she has a younger sister.

However throughout the two episodes she is featured, the main characters laugh at her when she talks about being beautiful, she just shrugs off WHICH JUST SHOWS HOW FABULOUS SHE IS. Sorry, I just love her character. Anyway It's even worse in the manga.

There are LOADS of instances where she's made fun of:

Okay so above there's a few. They are all about her not being beautiful and this one character (the little shitbag) laughing at her. Even laughing at her real name because she shares the same name as a Japanese actress, Satomi Ishihara. But this isn't the first time I've seen this.

I've watched plenty of anime that shames a bigger character, they aren't even a main character and are mostly ugly looking and put down. It's honestly a shame lots of anime/manga portray larger characters like this, and it's honestly a shame Japan are slightly behind with body positivity.

The only time I've seen an main character that is larger than most is an anime (one of my favourites because of its cuteness) was Ore Monogatari! (My Love Story!) where you see the main character, high school student Takeo fall in love with a normal girl called Yamado. I don't personally think he's fat, just HENCH (Muscles) and HENCH (tall) but others in the anime find his physical appearance beastly and "too ugly to be in a relationship" with Yamado. It doesn't take long for other characters to like Takeo though, he has such a nice personality (just gonna wait here for the next season to come out, if any).

Another instance: Food Wars. There's a secondary character, Isami. He's a large character and no one really takes notice, that is until he looses weight because it's the end of the summer. What a surprise.

There's also been another manga that has a large character, again a male character, that is ridiculed so much and it's sad to read apparently, I've not watched it.

But you can kinda see where I'm coming from. All the fat characters are really negatively seen in Japanese culture. I would like to see this change but it will take years! I know recently there's been a few plus size idol group and even a few plus size brands pop up, but Japan has a long way to go.

But for now I will have to wait and choose my cosplays accordingly.

BONUS: do you wanna se my favourite manga cap of Satomi?

Makeup Review: Jeffree Star Cosmetics Liquid Velour Lipstick

I have become a HUGE fan of liquid to matte lipsticks! I've been following lots of different brands, mostly ones from America, that seem to have a lot to choose from (and that I feel like I need in my collection). Recently I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the limited edition shades from Jeffree Star Cosmetics liquid velour lipstic range. For anyone asking, I managed to get hold of Doll Parts!

I was so excited to get the product and to try this gorgeous baby rose pink colour. The swatch on the website made it look like a very close high end dupe for nyx liquid matte cream in Istanbul, my top favourite colour. But I was mistaken. Apparently the people at Jeffree Star Cosmetics like to overly edit the stock photos, bad move that looks similar to something Lime Crime would do (tut tut).

Upon application it is considerably more liquid than any of my other brands of liquid matte lippies, this makes it very hard to control when guiding it onto your lips, well for me anyway. The lipstick dries quickly which is pretty good and surprising for the consitency of the product. Impressive.

On the box it says to exfoliate your lips before use, to not eat oily food and to remove with Shea butter (oh and no making out- smudge warning maybe?). I'm guessing this is some instructions on how to get the best results from the product, however I've not had a very good experience.

This lipstick, while being very pretty and have great colour play off, likes to smudge. And if it smudges so easily, it looks like your mouth is stained, with me it looked like that and I didn't even realise it happened until I noticed a woman looking at me weirdly. Also with other, what I would like to point out a lot cheaper, brands I've used it only removes itself from your lips if you eat or drink like you would normally. I used a straw with this product. It still transferred.

Overall I don't feel like this product is worth the money and I feel quite dissapointed. Only upside of this is that it doesn't make your lips feel dry and I love the colour of it.

Cosplay noob: Mcm London experience and hotel review

Just like the header suggests, I'm going to be sharing my experience with you lovely lot, including the experience I had at my hotel.

I made it. I actually made it this far without quitting on my cosplay, if you can call it that, as I thought I would be feeling stupid for wearing it or even being this sort of character. The days leading up to Saturday, I was feeling both scared and excited. Scared because I was worried about the ammount of people there and excited because I was going to be able to see people dressed up as characters. I love seeing people cosplay!

My own costume was based off a skirt and a White t-shirt with an added bow and collar and I was surprisingly comfortable wearing this the whole day. Go me. Though it's not exactly anime or manga correct, I think I can make it correct over time.

We decided to book a hotel room for two nights as I didn't want to turn up to the excel centre with bags, and rightly so as I will mention later the experience I saw with the cloakroom.

We stayed at Epsilon Hotel in Stratford. The reviews were good with the exception for a few things, noise and air circulation in the room. When we got there the people managing the check out seemed really disorientated. We mentioned that we requested a early check in and later check out which was confirmed twice over the phone and once via email, but they claimed they didn't know. It was soon sorted out, but still you don't really expect the hassle of this.
We got to our room that was on the third floor and to our joy (sarcasm) a front facing room. Where the hotel is situated, it is really a main road and is busy with cars and buses.
Immediately entering the room you could hear the outside traffic as clear as day, the window was a single pane of glass, and the added bonus of a stuffy small room. There was a fan but it o it really worked if you have it on at all times and it didn't cool the room down much which was a shame. Fuck knows how this is supposed to be an "Executive room".
Continuing with problems in our room, the drainage from both shower and skink was extremely slow. As in, washing your hands filled up the sink half way and it taking a while for the water to drain out. But hey, we got free breakfast each day so that's a consolation in itself (again sarcasm).

So it was the morning of Saturday, COMIC CON DAY! We had a really shit nights sleep to say the least but I was up at 6am getting ready. The shower drainage, like the sink, was really slow to the point where you really started to worry about causing a flood, also the body/hair wash dispenser gave you this vile smelling liquid which I could only describe as shit smelling. Just what I needed for the day's activities. To smell like literal shit. I managed to cover it up with lots of perfume, body spray and deodorant.

We left the hotel, wingy boyfriend in tow, got to Stratford station and there was so many people in costume! I loved it. I had one lady ask if comic con was on, which I confirmed as it was obvious (haha). I got my first compliment of the day too as the same woman said my wig colour suited me and that I should get it done to my natural hair. I also got a compliment on my eyebrows by "post apocalyptic Alice".
Shortly after we got to the excel just after opening time for us priority ticket holders. At this point everything seemed like a blur, I'm not going to lie, I was in my element.

I saw a lot of people but it didn't really seem as crammed as what people were saying on the mcm expo group on Facebook. Maybe this time they sorted out the space, or that's what I heard at least. Anyway, I couldn't believe I survived six hours of walking about and talking to friends. But leading up to the end of my visit, my feet were killing me. Thanks to my shitty primark shoes.
Only thing I felt sad about was the fact there was supposed to be a small sailor moon meet up but I only managed to see a few characters at the meeting place which I briefly said hi to and decided to go look around more on my own. Surprisingly there was quite a few sailor moon cosplayers. It's sad to see that they didn't want to meet up, but it was thrown together at the last minute so maybe that was the issue. I also didn't like how my feet started to hurt so much, so that made me feel sad too.

I'm going to just jump to the checking out part of the day after mcm. My boyfriend told the lady at the desk what issues we had with our room, but she didn't really seem bothered by it at all, she did try, but I still think it's bad making people pay £99 a night or more, for a shit room.

I would not recommend it to anyone as I saw the prices jumped up to over £300 for two nights. If you do go there, make sure you get ear plugs and maybe get a portable air conditioning unit.

Mcm however, I would definitely recommend to anyone who is into games, comic books, anime/manga, or dressing up in costume. Wear appropriate footwear though!

Cosplay noob: Sailor Neptune Cosplay Test

I did my first proper cosplay test todayyyyy omg ><,

I think I need to think through what I would actually do makeup wise because I initially wanted natural makeup and then when I put my eyelashes on I needed to add more liquid eyeliner to it -3-

Also where I styled my wig and left it there was an annoying clump of hair that kept going over my face. I keep thinking maybe I need to style it better but then I'm thinking it's fine how it is... I don't know.

I'm going to try it out again another time before the day of the expo but I'm happy with what I've achieved.

Sailor Moon 30 Day Challenge: Day 30! W/review :3

YAAAAAAAY FINAL DAY!

Day 30

"Favourite Moon Cat"

Luna. She's sassy at times but above all she's Usagi's teacher. Human form Luna is gorgeous and the story they have for her in one of the sailor moon movies is a lovely but sad one.

I don't like Kompettio!

----------------------------
Final words of this challenge.

SO FUCKING REPETITIVE. It was fun in the beginning but then it got very boring to the point where I physically couldn't conjure up the strength to re-write what I had said a few days earlier.

Moral of the story: find a better challenge.

If anyone has a good challenge then please point me in the right direction!

Sailor Moon 30 Day Challenge: Day 26, 27, 28, 29

Left it so late. I'm really doubting to actually post this today or just wait till tomorrow as there is only one day... BUT I will post because I might write what I thought of this challenge on the end tomorrow.... Hahahaha
------------------------------
Day 26

"Least Favourite Villain"

Pretty much most of them really.

I just don't get the negaverse.
------------------------------
Day 27

"Scout You Are Most Like"

Moon, Venus and Neptune. Sometimes Uranus.

I'm cute and funny and serious only when it's needed and even then I'm not sure I'm acting correctly. I also feel like I'm graceful (Neptune comes across as graceful) but well that's just how I feel, that might not be true. Ive been told I'm a huge flirt but honestly I think people just don't understand kindness.
------------------------------
Day 28

"Scout You Are Least Like"

I have no idea.

Actually I don't think I'm like Mars, Jupiter, Pluto or Saturn... Or Mercury. I'm not serious, smart or strong physically and that's what I feel these characters are most of the times.
------------------------------
Day 29

"Senshi or Starlights"

I like the senshi more. I think they kinda make more sense and we get to know them pretty well in the animes, where the Starlights are only around for one season, I didn't feel like I understood why they were here if I'm honest.

Sailor Moon 30 Day Challenge: Day 22, 23, 23 & 25

Yeah.... Whooooooopsie. Sorry but this instalment might contain spoilers :3
--------------------------
Day 22

"Sailor Moon Moment That Upsets You"

Any of the moments where all the sailor senshi dies. This happens a few times I believe.

Or when Zoisite dies in Naru's arms.....

Or when Usagi is the only sailor senshi that remembers dying....
--------------------------------
Day 23

"Sailor Moon Moment That Makes You Happy"

WHEN THEY ALL GET THEIR MEMORIES BACK AND USAGI ISN'T UPSET ABOUT BEING THE ONLY PERSON OT REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED.
-------------------------------
Day 24

"Sailor Moon Moment That Makes You Cry"

It's gonna sound sad, but remember what I said above?

ALL OF THEM.

There's probably a few more but I'm in the process of re-watching them all.
-------------------------------
Day 25

Funnies Sailor Moon Moment.

Okay can you see why I'm getting pissed off with these questions?

I'm being asked YET AGAIN of a funny moment.

Either way I'm gonna say the episode where Mamrou lets the sailor senshi come to a party being held by one of his college tutors. Usagi gets drunk and tries to talk English.
