Now I went to download in 2013, the famous year of my long running joke of how Corey Taylor did overtime, not only playing a set with Stone Sour but also Slipknot (on different days), but also pointing out to "step away from the barriers" so many times I couldn't count on my hands (my twin sister finds this joke hilarious, coupled with going to see Slipknot earlier this year and mentioning it when a song comes on).
So this being my first year at download, you would have thought that maybe I took it easy and just got a weekend camping ticket? Wrong! I nosedived into the theoretical festival pool and chose the 5 day camping ticket. I absolutely loved it!
The lead up to the day to leave was slow but also stressful. I had to figure out if my bag was big enough and if I got enough to survive with little money. Wanna know what I took?

You know what I missed which was a massive mistake? A fucking air bed. They sold them on site for something stupid, £20 for a single, but who doesn't want to cash in where demand will be high. When the morning came, I was so excited and nervous. Getting up at 5 am to travel was against me and all I stand for. But it was for something new. And anyone Who knows me knows I like trying new things(terms and conditions apply).
Getting the coach was stressful, I just wanted to get on the coach with my travel companion and with my luggage. Not only that but the early morning creepers at Victoria station maccy d's made me feel uneasy, yes random guy I know my hair colour made my eyes pop stop repeating it.
I absolutely loved the coach ride there. Everyone was buzzing! So many jokes bouncing around and at the end I managed to get the group, aka the coo kids at the back of the coach, to laugh at my joking about the security person telling people what to do once off the coach. I loved waiting in the queue to get into the village. It took about an hour but people managed to power sound systems which was cool.
I loved seeing all the bands! All of them. I loved seeing the lights of the rides in the village lit up at night. Hearing music playing in my tent.
Something I didn't like about download: the shitheads that walk around the campsite coming back from the club tent shouting their heads off. The occasional shithead thieves, I'm sure someone stole the pennies and 5p coins. The overcrowding going from one popular set to the other, I got squashed in this weird human traffic going from the main stage to the second stage(?). The whole coach drive home. THE AEROPLANES TAKING OFF AND LANDING NEARBY.
Just to reiterate, I LOVE download but I don't think I would camp again. Once is enough. The weird for the toilets and the showers were inhuman (hence the dry shampoo and the wet wipes).
